“SCBM Go Green - Shred to Share” with the Prevent Plastics Myanmar Team
On 29 September 2022, a “Shred to Share” program was attended by SCB Myanmar Acting General Manager Mr. Min Zaw, the Prevent Plastics Myanmar Team, and local craft makers from the Soe Family in Yangon, Myanmar. SCB Myanmar in collaboration with Prevent Plastics Myanmar participated in two days of handicraft training, working with local artisans from various demographics, including youths with special needs from Yangon.
The purpose of the activity was to transform shredded paper into small, useful, and beautiful handicraft products such as piggy banks, paper weights, and key-chain decorations to be used or sold. SCBM is proud to support green sustainability as a part of Go-Green activities.
Disposing of recyclable waste from the workplace without proper waste management is not sustainable, so "Shred to Share" Paper Craft Training is organized to reuse discarded materials. The Soe Family Artisan group aims to create a workplace that offers equal opportunities, and youths with special needs and hearing impairments are part of the team and workshop.
Since the participants have good concentration and creativity, they were able to develop their ideas and create new items from recyclable waste. These paper toys can also be resold in the market as they are popular traditional souvenirs.
This is a new step by Prevent Plastics Myanmar and SCB Bank’s Go Green initiative to preserve and protect the environment, reduce waste production, and create a path toward responsible business best practices. Technical skill inputs for the training were delivered by La Min, a local SME.
•မိမိတို့လုပ်ငန်းခွင်မှ ထွက်ရှိတဲ့ပြန်လည်အသုံးပြုလို့ရတဲ့ အမှိုက်များကို စွန့်ပစ်လိုက်ခြင်းက အမှိုက် ပိုမိုထွက်ရှိစေရုံ သာမက ကုန်ကြမ်းအရင်းအမြစ်များပါ ဆုံးရှုံးပါတယ်။ စွန့်ပစ်ပစ္စည်းတွေကို ပြန်လည်အသုံးချဖို့အတွက် Prevent Plastics နဲ့ SCB Bank တို့ပူးပေါင်းကာ Paper Craft Training စီစဉ်ပေးခဲ့ပြီး လမင်းစက္ကူလက်မှုလုပ်ငန်းမှ သင်တန်းပို့ချပေးခဲ့ပါတယ်။ Soe Family မှ မသန်သော်လည်း တီထွင်မှုအားကောင်းသူများနဲ့ဖွဲ့စည်းထားပြီး လက်မှုပညာနဲ့ အလုပ်အခွင့်အလမ်း တန်းတူရရှိစေရန် ရည်ရွယ် လုပ်ဆောင်နေပါတယ်။ ယခုသင်တန်းကို Soe Family အဖွဲ့ဝင်များကလည်း ပါဝင်ခဲ့ပြီး ကိုယ်တိုင် Paper Craft အရုပ်များကို ပြုလုပ်ခဲ့ပါတယ်။
သင်တန်းတက်ရောက်လာသူများမှာ အာရုံစူးစိုက်မှုကောင်းမွန်ပြီး တီထွင်ဖန်တီးနိုင်မှုအားကောင်းတာကြောင့် ပြန်လည်အသုံးပြု နိုင်တဲ့ စွန့်ပစ်အမှိုက်များကနေ ပစ္စည်းအသစ်များ ဖန်တီးနိုင်ခဲ့ပြီး နောက်ပိုင်းတွင် ရောင်းတန်းဝင်ဈေးကွက်မှာ ရောင်းချ နိုင်မှာဖြစ်ပါတယ်။ အမှိုက်ထွက်ရှိမှုကို လျှော့ချရင်း သဘာဝ ပတ်ဝန်းကျင်ကို ထိန်းသိမ်းကာကွယ်ဖို့အတွက် Prevent Plastics Myanmar, SCB Bank နဲ့ Soe Family တို့ရဲ့ ခြေလှမ်းသစ်ဖြစ်ပါတယ်။
ရုံးမှထွက်ရှိသော စက္ကူဖြတ်စများကို တန်ဖိုးတက်အောင် ပြန်လည်တီထွင်အသုံးချနိုင်ပြီး အလုပ်အကိုင်အခွင့် အလမ်းများ တိုးပွားလာစေရန် ရည်ရွယ်ကာ ယခု Activities လေးကို ပြုလုပ်ရခြင်း ဖြစ်ပါတယ်။
